The Market at Amsterdam
This is the only known copy of this etching by Samuel Colman, which I have catalogued as no. 48 in Samuel Colman: A Catalogue of the Artist’s Etchings. The subject matter suggests a date in the early 1880s, when Colman produced many etchings of northern European scenes, presumably from drawings he made during an earlier three-and-a-half year visit to the continent.
